To say that Katie Nixon is an advocate of food security would be an understatement. For more than 12 years, she has served in volunteer and professional capacities across the world to connect producers and consumers with affordable food and profitable markets.
Currently serving as the Food Systems Associate Director for the West Central Missouri Community Action Agency, Katie works with poverty level families and local farmers and growers to reduce food insecurity and establish marketing opportunities for locally grown products. Her goal is to create a $2 million economy of local commerce in the food sector.
